UH System at Sugar Land is located on 250 acres in Sugar Land, Texas, on the southwest side of Houston. UHSSL currently houses the Albert and Mamie George Building, three modular units, and a maintenance facility.

Classrooms

Due to the limited number of classrooms, it is often difficult to make changes after the semester has begun. Requests for classroom technology and for specific rooms need to be made as early as possible to the UHSSL Program Coordinator at creyes@central.uh.edu

Furniture in classrooms should not be moved. Each classroom is arranged to meet the needs of all scheduled classes. Food and drinks are allowed in general classrooms, but are strictly prohibited in all instructional television rooms, in all computer and multimedia labs, in the library, and in locations where UHSSL wireless laptops are in service. Courier Service

Courier service to each university in the University of Houston System is available through the Administrative Office. Please allow 1-2 days for sending and receiving materials by this method.

Faculty Work Areas

There are seven "come and go" workspaces in the Faculty Lounge (room 107) and seven additional spaces in the Faculty Workroom (room 110). Telephones, computers, and copiers are available for your use in each area. A limited number of lockers are available on a first come, first-served basis in the Faculty Lounge. A small conference room (room 109) is available by reservation for faculty and student meetings.

Telephones

Telephones are available in the Faculty Lounge and the Faculty Workroom for local and toll free calls. Classroom phones do not accept outside calls and are programmed to call for security, technical, or maintenance assistance. No outside calls can be made from the classroom phones, except to 9-1-1.
